The total length of the ball is 15 to 18 cm. The feathers vary in color, usually dyed red yellow, blue or green. However, in competitions the white colored featherball is preferred. The diameter of the plastic base is 4 cm. 5 to 7 paper or leather washers are placed at the rubber part so to ensure the flexibility and the smooth course of the ball. (At the bottom side of the plastic base there are lumps which assist the contact of the featherball with the player’s shoe.) In Chinese terminology, the Official featherball is called “Jianqiu”.

The feathers vary in color, usually red yellow, blue or green. The diameter of the plastic base is 4 cm. 5 to 10 paper washers are placed at the rubber part so to ensure the flexibility and the smooth course of the ball. The specific featherball is used in novice training. In Chinese terminology, the Training featherball is called “Wu Yu Jianqiu”.

The Artistic Featherball weights approximately 15 grams. This featherball consists of very thin feathers, tied and joined together to a plastic base. The length of the ball is differentiated from 15 to 18 cm. The diameter of the plastic base is 2 to 4 cm. A metallic washer is placed on top of the plastic base to ensure the exact weight and the smooth course of the ball. In Chinese terminology, the Artistic featherball is called “Huajian”.

The Free Style Featherball weights approximately 25 grams. This ball consists of 4 different colored feathers conjoint at a plastic base. The length of the ball is differentiated from 15 to 25 cm. The diameter of the plastic base is 4 to 6 cm. Several metallic washers and rubber separators ensure the proper weight and the smooth course of the ball. In Chinese terminology, the Free Style featherball is called “Da Jianqiu”.
