Újszász, July 2022
It was a pleasure for us to organize the 25th Hungarian Open in Újszász from 23 July to 26 July 2022. Players came from nine countries: Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and of course from Hungary.
30 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams competed in a great atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday. While on Monday and Tuesday 78 men and 32 women participated at the single events. Spectators could cheer the best European and Hong Kong players during the pretty exciting matches. At the end, the team from Nagykanizsa (Farkas Balázs, Horváth Gergő, Lukács Benedek, Lukács Márton, Takács Endre) won the men’s team event, and the team from Újszász (Diós Letícia, Dósa-Urbán Kitti, Ézsiás Fanni, Farkas Lilla) won the women’s team event. Regarding the single events, Herczeg Gábor from Újszász and Lo Wai Ming from Hong Kong managed to win the finals.
Beside the competition, the Czech players kept a billiard hockey event what made the program more colourful. At the evenings participants had the chance to enjoy the cultural and entertaining programs, like multicultural show, traditional Hungarian dinners and so on.
We are looking forward to the next Hungarian Open in 2023. Thanks for all the players who came to Hungary to participate at this jubilee Hungarian Open.
